Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)

Our team has begun to perform continuous DBS procedures since 2019. 

Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is a procedure in which stimulating electrodes are placed into the deep structures and selected targets of the brain. The electrodes are connected to an implanted pulse generator which is battery powered. Despite the uncertainty of the precise mechanisms underlying its efficacy, DBS is clinically effective in improving motor function of movement disorders (such as essential tremor, Parkinson’s disease and primary dystonia), in epilepsy, chronic pain, and some types of mental illness.
