Postdoctoral Research Fellow

University of Cadiz.

As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cádiz, my work focuses on exploring non-pharmacological interventions—such as neuromodulation—for people with spinocerebellar ataxias. This research interest comes from my doctoral work characterizing the neuropsychological profile of SCA36, also known as "ataxia da Costa da Morte" (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela), which included a research stay at Dr. Schmahmann’s lab (Harvard Medical School), where I became deeply interested in the cerebellum’s role in cognitive and affective processes. Before joining UCA, I was awarded a Margarita Salas postdoctoral fellowship, which allowed me to study the social aspects of cerebellar function in the lab of Prof. Van Overwalle (Vrije Universiteit Brussel).
